A copyright is a type of intellectual property that gives its owner the exclusive legal right to copy, distribute, adapt, display, and perform a creative work, usually for a limited time. The Indian copyright law protects literary works, dramatic works, musical works, artistic works, cinematograph films and sound recordings. Indian copyright has been published by Copyright Office, an agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.
